The advanced DAF XD Electric trucks are powered by the efficient and reliable PACCAR EX-D1 and PACCAR EX-D2 permanent magnet e-motors, which offer outputs from 170 kW/230 hp to 350 kW/480 hp. To perfectly tailor these electric vehicles to your needs and application, a full range of battery packs is available, resulting in ‘zero emission’ ranges of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. As a result, through optimal vehicle and charging planning, the trucks can even realize an impressive 1,000 fully electric kilometers per day.

The extremely aerodynamic design of the XD Electric is an important factor in its excellent energy efficiency and operating range. The aerodynamic and tapered design of the cab, with its rounded corners and windscreen, and lack of seams and panel gaps, ensures the least possible wind resistance, which translates directly into the lowest possible energy consumption. The side skirts, deflectors, collars and aerodynamic bottom plate under the cab also play a role, as do the digital cameras that replace the mirrors.
In order to maximize efficiency, DAF One Pedal Drive functionality can be engaged to use the electric motor for recuperating energy when braking. When regenerative braking is activated through the right-hand stalk, the truck can be controlled by just using the accelerator pedal. The effect of the pedal stroke position will vary depending on driving conditions to make the one pedal driving feel as smooth and intuitive as possible. The maximum amount of available braking power has three levels: 33%, 67%, or 100% of the maximum motor power, and can be manually adjusted using the right-hand stalk.
The New Generation XD Electric can be fast charged with powers up to 325 kW, allowing to boost a 3-string battery pack in just over 45 minutes from 0 to 80% of its capacity. Even the largest battery pack can be fully charged from empty to 100% in less than 2 hours.
Optional is an on-board charger with the capability of AC current charging of up to 22 kW. This provides highest flexibility to operate the vehicle, even in remote areas.

The comprehensive range includes fixed charging solutions with powers up to 50 kW using standard AC current and up to 350 kW for ultra-fast DC charging. In addition, there are also mobile chargers available, providing maximum flexibility.
Thanks to flexible and modular packaging of the batteries on the chassis, the New Generation DAF XD Electric offers industry leading bodybuilder friendliness. Battery packs can be optimally tuned to the vehicle’s application, leaving ample space for side loader superstructures and crane legs for instance. A 650V e-PTO is available as an option for powering auxiliary equipment such as an electric cooling installation for temperature-controlled transport or an electro-hydraulic crane. This eliminates the need of a separate generator.
